Does Claude Accept Crypto? What to Do Instead

Short answer: no, Anthropic does not accept cryptocurrency. Longer answer: gift subscriptions make it possible anyway, and that route is entirely within Anthropic’s rules.

The direct answer

Anthropic does not accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, or any other cryptocurrency for Claude Pro or Claude Max. Billing runs on cards and app-store payments. If you search for a crypto option in Claude's billing settings, you will not find one.

Why not?

Anthropic has not published a reason, but the usual considerations for a subscription business apply: crypto payments are irreversible, which complicates refunds and chargebacks; prices move, which complicates recurring billing; and accepting digital assets brings compliance and accounting overhead that a card processor absorbs for you. Most large SaaS companies have made the same call.

What actually works

Anthropic supports gift subscriptions: a purchaser buys a plan and receives a redeemable claude.ai link, which anyone with an eligible account can apply. Nothing about that mechanism requires the recipient and the buyer to be the same person.

So the workable path is that someone buys the gift through normal payment channels, and you pay them in crypto. That is the service we operate: you pay in the asset of your choice, we purchase the official gift, and the genuine claude.ai link lands on your private order page.

What to avoid

If you are shopping around, a few things should end the conversation immediately.

Anyone selling account logins instead of gift links. A shared or resold account breaks Anthropic's terms and can be shut down without warning, usually at the worst possible moment. A real gift link is redeemed on your own account, and afterwards you are an ordinary Anthropic customer with an ordinary subscription.

"Lifetime" Claude plans. Anthropic does not sell one, so nobody can resell one.

Prices well below retail. This is the counterintuitive one. Anyone reselling honestly pays full retail plus conversion costs, so a legitimate price is always a little above Anthropic's. A large discount means the seller is either not buying what they claim, or not planning to deliver at all.

Anyone asking for your Claude password, a wallet seed phrase, or a private key. No legitimate service ever needs any of the three. Ours does not even ask for an email address unless you want one on file.

Is buying a gift with crypto allowed?

Anthropic sells gift subscriptions, and a gift link is redeemed by whoever receives it rather than by the person who paid. We are an independent buyer rather than an authorised reseller, and we do not claim Anthropic endorses this service or speak for them about their terms. What we never do is sell accounts, shared logins, or credentials. You redeem an official link on your own account, and your relationship with Anthropic is directly with them from that point on.
