How to Buy Claude with Monero (XMR)
Monero is the only asset here where the amount and the counterparties are hidden on the chain itself. That changes what a payment reveals, though not as completely as people usually assume.
Why Monero and not just Bitcoin
Bitcoin is a public ledger. Every payment you have ever made from an address is visible to anyone who looks, forever, and exchanges that know your identity can link that address to your name. Paying for a subscription with Bitcoin permanently associates your wallet with this purchase.
Monero is built the other way around. Ring signatures hide which output was actually spent, stealth addresses mean the address on your order is never seen on the chain, and confidential transactions hide the amount. An observer with the block explorer open cannot tell that a payment happened between you and us, or how much it was for.
What paying in Monero does and does not hide
Hidden: the sending wallet, the amount, and the link between your wallet and this service. That is genuinely strong, and it is the reason Monero exists.
Not hidden: everything that happens off the chain. If you give an email address as a recovery contact, we hold that email. Your internet connection reached this website. Most importantly, the gift is redeemed on a Claude account, and Anthropic knows exactly who that account is. Monero protects the payment, not the subscription.
If your goal is that no payment processor and no bank sees a line item for an AI subscription, Monero achieves that completely. If your goal is that Anthropic does not know who you are, no payment method solves that, because the account is the identity.
How to pay
- Choose your plan and pick XMR as the payment asset on the order builder.
- Open your Monero wallet. Cake Wallet, Feather, Monerujo, and the official GUI all work. Your wallet needs to be synced before you can send.
- Send the exact amount shown. Scan the QR rather than typing the address; Monero addresses are 95 characters and a hand-copied one is a lost payment.
- Wait for confirmations. Monero blocks arrive roughly every two minutes and payments are usually credited within about twenty minutes.
- Collect the gift link from your order page and redeem it on your Claude account.
Things specific to Monero
Sync before you order, not after. A wallet that has been closed for a few weeks can take a long time to catch up, and the deposit window is not long enough to wait it out. Open the wallet, let it finish syncing, then start your order.
Do not send from a view-only wallet. It cannot sign, and the transaction will simply not go anywhere.
Never send a payment ID unless the order asks for one. Modern Monero uses integrated or subaddresses and your order page tells you if anything extra is needed.
Some exchanges have delisted XMR. If you plan to buy Monero specifically for this, check that your exchange still supports withdrawals before you create the order, because the quote is held only for the payment window.
