Can you pay Anthropic in crypto?

No. Anthropic bills Claude Pro and Claude Max through card and standard app-store payments. There is no Bitcoin, USDT, or other cryptocurrency option at checkout, and no published plan to add one.

What Anthropic does support is gift subscriptions. A gift is a redeemable link that applies a paid plan to an eligible Claude account. Anyone can buy a gift and give the link to anyone else. That is the mechanism that makes paying with crypto possible.

How buying Claude with crypto actually works

1. Pick your plan and duration. Claude Pro, Max 5x, or Max 20x, from one to twelve months.
2. Choose your cryptocurrency and network. The asset and network must match exactly, because tokens with the same ticker exist on incompatible chains.
3. Send the exact amount shown to the deposit address generated for your order. A QR code is provided so you do not have to copy an address by hand.
4. Wait for on-chain confirmation. Timing depends on the network you chose, not on us.
5. Collect your gift link from your private order page and redeem it on your Claude account.

Which cryptocurrency should you use?

Any supported asset works, but they are not equal in practice:

• USDT or USDC are stablecoins, so the amount you send will not drift in value while the transaction confirms. On Tron or Solana the fees are very low.
• Solana, Litecoin, and Dogecoin confirm quickly and cheaply.
• Bitcoin is universally supported but can be slower and more expensive during congestion.

Almost every failed crypto payment comes down to one of these:

• Wrong network. Sending USDT on Ethereum to a Tron address will not arrive. Match the network shown on your order exactly.
• Missing memo or destination tag. Some chains require one. If your order shows a memo field, it is not optional.
• Wrong amount. Send the exact figure displayed. Exchange withdrawal fees are sometimes deducted from the amount sent, which leaves the payment short.
• Paying too late. Quotes are only held for a limited window, because exchange rates move.

Redeeming the gift

Open the delivered link in a browser, sign in to the Claude account that should receive the plan, and follow Anthropic's confirmation steps. Anthropic's current guidance states that gifts expire 365 days after purchase and that multiple gifts cannot be redeemed simultaneously. If you have an active subscription bought through iOS or Android, Anthropic currently requires you to wait until it ends before redeeming.
