How to Buy Claude Code with Crypto
Claude Code is not sold separately. It comes with a Claude Pro or Max subscription, which means paying for Claude Code with cryptocurrency is the same problem as paying for Claude with cryptocurrency, and it has the same solution.
Is there a separate Claude Code subscription?
No. Claude Code is Anthropic's terminal coding tool, and access is bundled into the ordinary Claude plans rather than billed on its own. If you have Claude Pro, you have Claude Code. If you have Claude Max 5x or Max 20x, you have Claude Code with substantially more usage.
So there is no "Claude Code plan" to buy with crypto. What you buy is a Pro or Max gift subscription, and Claude Code comes with it.
Which plan should a developer pick?
Usage limits are the whole question, because Claude Code consumes far more of your allowance than chat does.
Pro is fine for occasional work: small repositories, short sessions, the odd refactor. Max 5x is the common choice for people writing code every day, at roughly five times the Pro allowance. Max 20x is for long agentic sessions, large codebases, and anyone who effectively lives in the terminal.
If you are unsure, a single month of Max 5x costs little enough to test against your real workload before committing to a longer term.
Paying with cryptocurrency
Anthropic does not accept cryptocurrency at checkout, and does not offer a crypto billing option for any plan. The working route is an official gift subscription bought on your behalf and paid for in crypto.
- Choose Pro, Max 5x, or Max 20x and the number of months you want.
- Pick your asset and the matching network. Getting the network right matters more than which coin you choose.
- Send the exact amount to the deposit address shown on your order.
- Collect the official claude.ai gift link from your private order page once the payment confirms.
- Redeem the link on the Claude account you use with Claude Code, then run
claudeand sign in.
Why developers pay this way
The reasons are usually practical rather than ideological. Some contractors and freelancers are paid in stablecoins and prefer to spend from the same balance. Some are in countries where card payments to foreign services are unreliable or blocked. Some simply do not want a recurring card charge and would rather buy a fixed twelve months up front and forget about it.
Stablecoins such as USDT and USDC on Tron or Solana tend to be the most predictable choice, because the amount does not move while the transaction confirms and the network fee is negligible.
After redemption
Claude Code authenticates against your Claude account, so once the gift is redeemed there is nothing further to configure. Install it, sign in with the account that received the gift, and your Pro or Max limits apply automatically.
See buying Claude Max with crypto for the usage differences between the tiers, or the FAQ for redemption edge cases.
