How to Buy Claude with Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum works well here and is the chain most people already hold. The one thing worth thinking about first is gas, because on a small order the network fee can be a noticeable share of what you pay.
Gas is the thing to check first
An Ethereum transfer costs whatever the network is charging at that moment. On a quiet weekend that can be well under a dollar. During a busy period a simple transfer can cost several dollars, and moving an ERC-20 token such as USDT costs more than moving ETH itself because it is a contract call rather than a plain transfer.
On a twelve month Max plan, a few dollars of gas is a rounding error. On a one month Pro plan at twenty four dollars, paying five dollars in gas means the network took a fifth of the order value on top of the price. That is worth a moment of thought before you send.
Check a gas tracker before you create the order. If gas is high and you hold assets elsewhere, Solana or Tron will cost you a fraction of a cent instead, and both settle faster. We would rather tell you that than take an order that cost you more than it needed to.
Which network to choose
The order builder offers Ethereum mainnet along with Arbitrum, Starknet, Scroll and ZKsync Era. If your ETH is already on a layer two, use it: the transfer costs a small fraction of mainnet gas and arrives just as reliably. If your ETH is on mainnet, bridging it purely to save gas on one order is not worth it, because the bridge itself costs mainnet gas.
For stablecoins, USDT and USDC both appear on several chains. Pick the coin first, then pick the network your balance is actually on. A USDT balance on Tron cannot be sent to an Ethereum deposit address, and a transfer sent to the wrong chain cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
How to pay
- Choose your plan and pick ETH, or a token such as USDT or USDC, on the order builder.
- Pick the network that matches where your coins are. This is the step that matters most.
- Open your wallet. MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet and Trust Wallet all work, as does an exchange withdrawal.
- Send the exact amount shown and leave enough ETH in the wallet to cover gas. A token transfer still needs ETH for the fee, which is the most common reason a first attempt fails.
- Wait for confirmations. Mainnet blocks arrive about every twelve seconds and payments are usually credited within a few minutes.
- Collect the gift link from your order page and redeem it on your Claude account.
Things specific to Ethereum
A token transfer needs ETH for gas. A wallet holding only USDT cannot send it. Keep a small amount of ETH alongside any ERC-20 balance.
Do not send from a smart contract wallet you cannot control directly. Multisig and account abstraction wallets work, but a transfer that needs several signatures may not complete inside the payment window.
Set a normal fee, not the lowest possible. A transfer priced too low can sit unconfirmed for a long time. The window is generous, but a stuck transaction is still an avoidable delay.
No memo is needed. Your deposit address belongs to your order alone, so there is nothing extra to fill in.
